Sports Training & Recreation for Intellectual Disabilities Ethiopia
What is ST.R.ID.E?
The majority of individuals who have a developmental disability lack physical activity in their daily lives (especially in developing nations). FNM offers the “ST.R.ID.E” Program as the exercise/sport/health component of our organization.
Sports is what they DO, but Confidence is what they build!
FNM’s beneficiaries who choose to participate in this program have the opportunity to receive proper instruction regarding exercise from stretching to learning the rules to various sports. This program assists in developing their group participation skills, social skills, personal confidence, and overall physical fitness.
This program compliments our Social Awareness Program, as some of the programming is done in the public schools. This program is conducted like a gym class at school and recreational time at the FNM Training Center.
Meya & Chalie are covering our S.T.R.ID.E program while Coach Melaku is in driver’s training class for a couple months…
