Name of EFA Student: Yehunie Melak (SPONSORED)
Age: 17 – 19 (as of 2015)
History: He is currently in the 8th grade, and he is a very smart student. His grades were ranked 1st in his 7th grade class last year, and he is continuing his academic success this year. Because of his grades, Bahir Dar University invited him to learn for free for 1.5 months last Summer on his school break. Both of his parents have died.
This is a certificate of recognition Yehunie received for his top grades!
Disability: He has a problem with his legs/hips. He walks with walking supports, but it takes effort. He was diagnosed in 2009. He was told that his problem probably occurred because he had to carry a lot (he was a shepherd boy) and was probably overloaded many times when he was younger. During that time is when his hip problem began. *He is able to ride his bike, which is a testament to his determination to overcome.
