As Forgotten No More was developed back in 2012, one of the guiding principles we sought to maintain as an organization was…“we will serve our beneficiaries no more than 49% of their overall needs because we don’t want to replace their families, we want to empower their families.”
Our staff has done an amazing job maintaining this standard of service with our beneficiaries…and their families (who continue the work of FNM in their homes).
*(in this picture, Chalie is assisting one of our moms in learning the exercises to continue at home)
Mahlet is teaching another mom some home PT stretches for her child also.
The sports time for the kids has become a lot more fun playing with actual goals instead of kicking between 2 rocks!
I think this might be a GOALLLLLLLLL?We’ll have to work on Goalie positioning. 🙂
The kids have also been enjoying some mobility in the small wheelchair built by some recent volunteers.
We appreciate everyone’s prayers for Forgotten No More & Ethiopia! Our staff is doing an amazing job, and Cheryl & I are doing what we can from here to support them! We appreciate all of you helping us by supporting their work!
Our family has been back in the states for a longer period than anticipated, but we’re making the most of it. Yismaw came and visited us on his Summer Break from school in California.
Smile, one-two-three…Everyone say, “Humidity!”
We’re blessed by friends who have let us stay in their home…in which we get to enjoy a wonderful dog, Ellie. She keeps our kids from missing our dog, Buna, who we had to leave in Ethiopia.
….but there was an unwanted visitor… whom I caught coming in through the attic fan vents 🙂
ALF is holding the attic fan vents open to help cool down the house at night 🙂
