Remember Minichel (“Miny”) – I had breakfast with Miny on Day 5. FNM still wants to find a way to get him the surgery for his spine. He had TB of the spine. Great Smile Miny! …he knitted that hat.
This was on Sunday. I had 3 meals before lunch. So many people to see…and they all fed me (very good Ethiopian culture).
I ran into a few more friends on the street. Sisay & Melese
and our language teacher, Manamal. (…he doesn’t look like he is happy with my Amharic) 🙂
Then I visited Buna…our beloved dog we left with Grace Center’s Foster Home. We’ve been away for 4 months, and you can really tell in the video below.
Although she has missed me (my family), she has become part of a very special home for these kids.
She goes to these kids and is a great friend.
Today, which is Labor Day, a National Holiday in Ethiopia, I had a meeting with the great people from Reach Another Foundation. Abraham & Mesfin, FNM managers, also attended the meeting, along with the One Love Day Center Mangers. I told them that I had to get a picture b/c I needed to show all of you that I’m actually doing some work while here in Ethiopia. 🙂
Mesfin & Abraham are on the 2 ends…
The meeting was about how they can work with local NGOs, create a network, and gather information on how they can bring more awareness, training, and possibly a school for children who have Autism. They have already established 3 schools in Ethiopia. It’s really a great group of people to be with, and we’re looking forward to seeing more of them in Ethiopia. They are really ones to take great strides in helping individuals who have autism, as well as Hydrocephalus & Spina Bifida.
As you can see, I’m really hard at work 🙂
I love to meet with World Changers. We met with RAF last year, and I’m glad that I was in town to see them again. They are doing some BIG things!
Well, after the meeting, it was lunch, catch up with some more friends, go back and give Buna her flea medicine, and get this update ready for all of you.
Tomorrow, the Center is open, and it’s back to work. Have a great Day/Night!
