Days 3 & 4 brought catching up with friends, visiting babies, putting more of the materials together, & going to a baby dedication.
Always, when I run into Tefera, he asks me about his sponsors at Grace Center, and he’s always wearing a smile 🙂
It gets pretty dark at night.
This is Baby Ruth. Isn’t she a cutie-pie! She’s doing well, and Mahalet (mom)is doing good.
Kids continue to play at the FNM Center… testing out the little bike I brought. Next week, I’ll get more pics of the kids in action…enjoying more of the new stuff 🙂
Here is 1 small mobile chair (made by the volunteer team who were supposed to come last August) Thanks Everyone! The 2 chairs beside it are called “First Class Chairs”. They are adjustable in almost every way; however, there are 2 side adjusters that I thought came with the kit (but they didn’t)…so, I went to the metal market with Melaku and Meya to buy some squared metal tubing. We’ll build the adjusters on Tuesday b/c Monday is Labor Day in Ethiopia. 🙂 National Holiday, No Work.
Today (Saturday), I went to the baby dedication of our manager, Abraham. It was a great celebration. A really special surprise was to see Mekdes come with her mom. Mekdes has been with Forgotten No More since Cheryl & I were operating out of our house. About 3 months ago, Mekdes was hit by a car. The driver was in the process of driving away when someone else seen that he was going to leave. Since someone else was there, the driver carried her to the hospital. One of her legs was broken. He covered all of the expenses and we’re so grateful that she is doing well now.
What got me a little teary was that she arrived in Ava’s “Cinderella” dress. Cheryl & I bought this dress for Ava as a special gift for attending her first day of Pre-School (8 years ago), and now Mekdes is wearing it for a special celebration. Isn’t life cool!
Tomorrow, Sunday, my plan is to visit some more friends…and hopefully visit our dog “Buna” who has been living at Grace Center’s Foster Girls Home for the past 5 months. Catch you later!
